AxCrypt is a comfortable and powerful program for file encryption that allows its users to protect their documents wherever they take them. The program stands out, mainly, for its ease of use.
The program, which uses the 128-bit AES encryption algorithm, integrates seamlessly with Windows, adding a new option to the explorer’s context menu after installation. Once installed, to encrypt any file we will only have to click with the right button of the mouse on it, choose the AxCrypt option and assign it a password so that the program protects it. To decrypt it, we can do it in the same way or from the program interface by entering the path where it is.
But the AxCrypt functions do not end there, since if we want more security for our documents, the program helps us create a ‘key file’ that must be stored on a portable device and without which it will be impossible to unlock the password-protected files encrypted.
Furthermore, as a secondary option, AxCrypt also has a tool for the permanent elimination of files and folders that works by overwriting the information with random data, so that the former cannot be recovered even with specialized programs.
