FlightGear is a spectacular open source flight simulator and a serious alternative to Microsoft Flight Simulator.
The developers involved in the project have helped create a comprehensive database of more than 20,000 airports around the world.
The airport precincts are faithfully represented. The landing strips have all the elements typical of this type of civil infrastructure: signaling, lights, beacons, etc. From the FlightGear website you can get almost all the airports in the world.
Choose an aircraft among the twenty that the application brings by default and start flying. You can download new models from the Internet, from the defunct Air France Concorde to Santa’s sleigh. In addition, FlightGear gives you the possibility to create your own planes.
Finally, we recommend that you make use of the program’s starter guide, as flying is not easy and even less for beginners.
