Redream is an emulator for the latest SEGA console, the legendary Dreamcast, which offers one of the smoothest and easiest emulation experiences that we can find on Windows. In this way, we can comfortably play some of the most iconic titles in history, such as Jet Set Radio, Crazy Taxi, Space Channel 5, Shenmue, Power Stone or Soul Calibur, to name a few.
One of the strengths of Redream is that it is extremely easy to use. We will not need to download BIOS or carry out any type of complex configuration. We will only have to have the roms of the games in the same folder as the executable and the emulator will automatically recognize them all. In the same way, the emulator will automatically recognize and ‘map’ any remote that we have connected to the computer.
Redream’s option menus are equally straightforward and accessible. From the ‘system’ tab we can choose the region, the language and the type of cable that we want to simulate. In the ‘video’ tab, on the other hand, we can choose the resolution, the aspect ratio and a couple of more graphic options. All very simple and very intuitive. In the ‘controls’ tab we can manually customize the controls of our controls or keyboards, although the default options are usually very good.
Redream is a spectacular Dreamcast emulator that works like a charm with many of the most important titles on the console. On the emulator’s official website, we can also make a donation of five dollars, which will allow us to access a few advanced options with which to further improve the graphic quality of your games.
