Scribus is a layout program that was originally developed for the Linux platform with great success among its users. However, since the latest versions a free and open source version for Windows and Macintosh is already offered with which to work with all kinds of documents adapted to current digital printing standards, so it can be used perfectly for professional projects by having GPL license.
The program includes all the necessary tools to make professional document layouts and publications, with a range of functionalities that have nothing to envy to creations made with programs such as Freehand or QuarkXpress. It includes support for professional functions such as CMYK colors, import / export of PDF and EPS files, separations, ICC color manager, vector drawing tool, support for OpenType fonts levels 1, 2 and 3 and much more.
It includes by default several templates that will allow us to learn to use the program, although its learning curve is very affordable for those who have not worked with software of this type. In addition, Scribus is developed in a simple interface and is in several languages, including Spanish.
