Visual Studio Code is a reduced version of the official Microsoft development environment focused exclusively on the code editor. It is cross-platform and supports the syntax of a large number of programming languages.
The tool provides support and assistance to languages of diverse scope: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, various variants of C, Java, SQL, PHO, Ruby, Visual Basic or JSON among many others, supporting highlighting, automatic indentation, snippets and autocompletion.
The environment does not have any boast, focusing exclusively on offering flexibility and simplicity to precisely promote that compatibility on different platforms that it offers, beyond support for Git repositories or the possibility of opening several file instances in the same window.
