Visual Studio is Microsoft’s official integrated development environment, a general-purpose IDE that allows you to implement, test and compile all kinds of web applications and projects, with the incentive to support a large number of programming languages and output platforms, already be it desktop programs, web applications, cloud-based services or mobile apps.
Its multiplatform nature allows you to create both web projects and applications for smartphones or tablets on iOS, Windows Phone and Android systems. In fact, the latest versions of Visual Studio include an emulator for the Google operating system to test our creations on virtual devices. Obviously, it also allows connecting physical devices for testing, all easily configurable from its installation wizard that allows us to integrate the SDK we need.
Visual Studio Community has all the features of the Professional commercial edition and allows you to create all kinds of projects, whether free or commercial. The only requirement is its limitation of use in non-business environments for teams of up to five people. For the rest, its user license is completely free and allows the installation of more than 1,500 extensions that increase the functionalities of the tool even more.
